We’re Part of the #PeaceStartsHere Movement!
We’re excited to share that We for Change is now part of the #PeaceStartsHere movement as a Local Champion. We’re joining over 30 incredible organizations around the world to highlight just how powerful and essential local peacebuilding really is.
Peace Starts Here is a global movement for everyone who’s serious about building lasting peace in their own communities — especially those working at the grassroots level, often in the middle of conflict and uncertainty. Learn more: www.peacestartshere.world or @peacedirect on Instagram
Right now, when so much in the world feels uncertain, we believe in peace more than ever — not just as a distant goal, but as something we can build together, right where we are. Peace is about listening, healing, understanding, and coming together. And we believe it starts with all of us.
Introducing Our New Project: The Peacebuilder’s Manifesto
To contribute to this shared vision, we’re launching a new initiative designed to bring peacebuilding closer to young people and communities across Nepal.
The Peacebuilder’s Manifesto is a creative, community-led peace education tool developed in Nepali — and the heart of a three-part process we’ll be leading in the months ahead.
1. Research and Video Documentation
We’ll start by engaging grassroots peacebuilders from across Nepal in meaningful conversations around the Five Manifestos of Peace Starts Here. Through this, we’ll gather local stories, practices, and wisdom on how communities navigate and transform conflict. These insights will be captured in a five-episode video podcast series, spotlighting the voices and experiences of everyday peacebuilders in their own words.
2. Designing the Creative Handbook
Drawing from the research, we’ll co-create a Creative Handbook in Nepali — one that simplifies peacebuilding concepts through artwork, comics, photographs, and real-life narratives. The goal is to make peace education more relatable, visual, and usable for youth and grassroots groups.
3. Youth Discussion and Launch Event
Once the handbook is complete, we’ll host a youth-led launch event which will be a space for learning, sharing, and hands-on engagement with the handbook — bringing together young people from across Nepal to reflect on the Five Manifestos and imagine new possibilities for community peacebuilding.
We can’t wait to see how young changemakers across Nepal make this manifesto their own — and carry it forward into the work they’re already doing in their communities. ✨
